Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd …..

 Unanimously acclaimed by the Critics as one of Stephen Sondheim’s most powerful scores, this black comedy follows the homicidal career of Sweeney Todd, falsely imprisoned by a Judge who robbed him of his wife and child.  Cheated of his revenge against the Judge, Sweeney Todd, the ‘Demon Barber of Fleet Street’– with the aid of his razor exacts a far more terrible revenge on society, cheerfully helped by his neighbour Mrs Lovett who is delighted to give a new lease of life to her flavourless meat pies. 

Winner of 8 Tony Awards in 1979 Newsweek commented on Sweeney Todd ‘ In sheer ambition and size there’s never been a bigger musical on Broadway’ and includes the songs ‘ The Ballad of Sweeney Todd’,  ‘ Johanna’ and the hilarious ‘Have a Little Priest’. This isn’t just a dark tale set to music it is laced with wit and humour throughout.
